Game Management
In the span of 20 years, Indianhead Ranch was converted from a livestock ranch to a leader in the Texas exotic game ranch industry. This was made possible by two main development changes.
First, we removed all inside fences and installed a 23 mile long high fence around the perimeter of the ranch leaving one side open with a natural boundary, Lake Amistad. This enabled us to provide our hunters with free roaming game in 10,000 acres of open space.

Second, we built about 60 miles of roads to access all areas on the ranch. While preparing the hunting ground, we carefully chose all the different species and familiarized them in small pastures before their release onto the 10,000 acres. These smaller enclosures are still presently used to adapt the future species of the ranch (African Eland Armenian Sheep, etc..).

Our game management programs constantly supervise the number of mature bulls you will be able to harvest per year, the yearly surplus of game we can trap and resale to participate in the conservation by the propagation of these species. The programs also analyze the bloodlines to determine if new blood is needed to keep up perfect genetics. Ultimately, the programs will determine the number of cull hunts per specie and year.
