Frequently asked questions

A short way to answer that question is “Not in a hunting blind!” At Indianhead Ranch we have a safari style hunt. This includes glassing, walking canyon edges and spot and stalk type hunting. On occasion we will find a nice cliff off of a canyon to glass and wait for the hunt to come to us!

We have several different types of hunting rigs here at the ranch. First and foremost we have the 1st generation Indianhead Ranch rig, which is a late 80’s early 90’s classic suburban chopped to perfection. We have been using these suburbans on the ranch for decades.  In addition to the 1st generation custom ranch rig we have a custom Jeep and a “back drive”, a variation of the top drive, so everyone has a great view including the driver!

Indianhead Ranch is a 10,000 acre ranch with 3 and a half miles of gorgeous cliffs over Lake Amistad and the Devils River.

There are 12+ exotic species roaming the ranch at any given time.

Only 20 miles north of Del Rio, Indianhead Ranch is closer than you think and well worth the trip.

A record class trophy is a trophy eligible for Safari Club International Record Book. We are not able to guarantee a specific score as you are hunting on a single hunting area of 10,000 acres. To guarantee a SCI score or to accommodate a special request for species, we ask for a 50% deposit on the quoted trophy fee.
